This time - my character bends to the knee of my weird ideas, surfaces, and intuitive style. The work is driven by curiosity to make something really weird, original, while also completing a checklist of color, texture, and compositional requirements. The title “Out of Abstraction” is in reference to my creative process, beginning with loose pastel sketches and paint studies that gradually coalesce into a cohesive composition.
