My desire to create hand held figurines and sculptures stems from my childhood of playing with GI joes, recreating battle scenes and articulating them in cool positions. Since developing this character throughout high school and now into even my most recent painting, I always knew I wanted to bring him off of the canvas.
The “Key Stone” collection refers not only to some of the paint jobs featured, but the symbolic nature of my character. He is how I represent creativity, my creativity, and is the journeyman through my imagination. I picture these statues as relics from these adventures. As of recently, abstracted - but still always there.
I sculpted the original figurine in early 2023 and created my first mold of him by the end of summer. These figures are casted in resin and hand-painted individually after fully cured. Pieces you see with extra-embellishments are sculpted with epoxy.
