SHOW STATEMENT -
"Out of Abstraction," offers a glimpse into my unique approach to painting, which centers around intuition and mixed media experimentation. By using elements such as sand and spackle, I create textures that add depth and dimension to my work, which is primarily composed of oil pastels, acrylics, and spray paint. Each new painting and starting surface pushes, pulls, and bends my style to the challenges they create. My creative process begins with loose pastel sketches and paint studies that gradually coalesce into a cohesive composition. My signature character is a recurring motif that appears once again in both recognizable and abstract forms - as if stepping through alternate universes. Through a fusion of representational and abstract techniques, I bring my thoughts and ideas to life in vibrant colors and expressive forms.
